Football is back... Tully is not

Football returneth and I likewise am returning to the blogging scene. Just taking it by storm. But like the Perfect Storm.

First step towards Mission 19-0 for the Pats was alerting Mr. Tully Banta-Cain that he is no longer a part of our organization.

I used to be a fan of Mr. Tully. Always seemed like he cared, gave 100 percent, all that stuff. Started out as a mostly special teams guy and then earned a spot as a starting OLB.

But last year it seemed like he was getting caught out of place a lot and with Jermaine Cunningham earning some serious playing time Tully found himself in a diminished role. He was used specifically on pass rushing downs and he obviously didn't even do that very well as that remains our biggest weakness. Tully finished second on the team last year with just 5 sacks.

So I'm hoping this means we're going to add a pass rusher through free agency or maybe even with a trade. Mathias Kiwanuka would be nice. I'd sign off on that.
