Debate Over

I don't want to get ticky tacky here but MJ's lowest point total in the playoffs was 15 in a loss to the Knicks.

But the issue here isn't even how many points Lebron scored. It's how passive and tentative he was. There was no obnoxious swagger, no relentless attacks to the basket. Instead, he often stood off to the corner, putting his hands up for the ball as if he was too shy to call for it.

That shrinking question would have made a whole lot more sense after this game. Lebron hasn't existed in the fourth quarters of this series. He has something like 9 points in all of them combined, whereas Dirka Dirka has 44. You do the math.

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times. MJ raised his level of play when it counted most. 35 straight Finals games, MJ scored at least 20 in all of them. And I don't want to hear any of this garbage defending Lebron like "Oh well he almost had a triple double." No. His team needed him to score. The Heat are tough to stop because they're a two and a half headed monster, with Lebron and Wade leading the way. Last night they looked like the 09 Heat except they were playing 4 on 5 down the stretch.

It's so tough to figure out what was wrong with Lebron but it is fun to guess. Did someone sleep with his Mom again? What's the deal? Because it was clear that his teammates weren't even looking for him. After watching him control the ball, even bringing it up for a lot of the Chicago series, it was funny to see him uninvolved. Whatever it was, it's permanently staining his legacy.
