For several reasons.
Number one. His college coach compared his game to that of Marshall Faulk. Woah.
He's a physical guy. I mean look at him. He looks like he could play without pads on.
He has the ability to catch the ball as a receiver. Pass protects well on third down. Just an all around, versatile running back.
Vereen is now the second player we drafted this year who's college coach described him as "the type of man you'd want your daughter to marry." The Patriots are just a high character team. That being said, cue the music.
