Ah well... Bring on the lakeshow

Solid game against Orlando Sunday. Loved the way Rondo was attacking the basket. Haven't seen a whole lot of that this year. When he's being aggressive like that it just gives us another dangerous scoring option. Takes a lot of pressure off Paul and Ray as well.

But how scary was that when Marquis crumpled to the floor. That was terrifying. I got a sick feeling in my stomach like what Tim McGraw feels when he watches Don Billingsley play football. It didn't even look like he got hit that hard but you could tell that there was a little whip-lash action. Whenever they bring out the stretcher you know it's nothing good. Moments like that give you a whole lot of perspective. We put these guys on a pedestal for playing with a ball, but at the end of the day they're just like us; human. And that potentially could have been a life-altering injury. Thank God Marquis is fine. He just has some spinal bruising. Initial word is that he should be back in a month or two. Too bad, our bench was finally going to be complete with Delonte coming back around the All-Star break.

Anyways, the C's dropped one to the Bobcats last night. Don't even want to discuss that one really. Honestly can we just have the Maine Red Claws play the second game of back-to-backs for us? The Celtic's are 6-7 in those games, and 2-7 on the road. They just don't really show up for those ones. Tommy summed it up well when he said it was turning into a "tired legs game."

But I'm not stressing about it and neither should anyone else out there. The Lakers are coming to town Thursday. This ones has classic written all over it. The reasons should be obvious but I'll go ahead and talk about them anyways. First of all its the Lakers. If you can't get up for this game you're either dead or you're just not really into sports (that must be such a boring life by the way, get it together). Secondly, Kobe will be looking for revenge after getting beaten at home. He'll try to put the team on his back again, although realistically it's more like brushing them aside. He'll make some more stupid faces (I think he needs to bring back the playoff underbite), strut around, maybe even stare at Shaq on the bench every time he hits a shot. I don't know. Thirdly Ray is just two threes away from breaking the record. So now he has the chance to get that done AT home, AGAINST the Lakers, AND with the game on TNT, so Reggie Miller will actually be there in person.

I can't imagine what Reggie is going to say when Ray surpasses him but it's probably a good bet it'll be awkward. Like maybe he'll try some Princess Bride trick where he'll try to tell us he's actually left-handed. I wish that Ray wasn't so classy because then he could do the choke-sign to Reggie. That would be good TV. That's a moment right there.
