8 in a row

When V-Tek is driving in four runs than you really know the Sox have it going on right now.

Ortiz homered again and Lil Dusty drove in another three runs as the Red Sox piled 18 hits on the poor Blue Jays. It got ugly. So ugly in fact that the Jays brought in an infielder to pitch. That's when you know.

It's weird, theres really no position to complain about in this lineup anymore. All the usual suspects are swinging the bat well, including J.D. Drew, who's proving he can do more than just wrestle alligators. The catcher position is producing offensively. Jed Lowrie, while falling off the pace he had going earlier in the season, is still batting right around .300. So that takes care of the shortstop position, which has been a source of much anguish for Sox fans ever since the Nomar trade and the World Series fling with Orlando Cabrera. But there aren't any holes in this lineup. Too bad for the whiner line.

We have not one but two legitimate MVP candidates in Adrian Gonzalez and Big Papi. Adrian Gonzalez is putting up his usual numbers, taking advantage of Fenway Park, and Papi is hitting exactly how he did 2003-2007. I have a feeling a vintage clutch Papi moment isn't far off.

But how many All-Stars could this team potentially have? I'd say Ellsbury, Gonzo, Ortiz, Crawford, and Pap. If Lil Dusty goes on a tear he should find himself out there as a reserve. This team is way too loaded and they're about to run away with first place.
