KG's on board

When news of the Perk trade hit, everyone took it hard. Rondo might have been closer to Perk than anyone. They literally considered each other brothers.

But KG takes Ubuntu very seriously. In Perk, he had lost a family member. He had lost his defensive battery mate, his fellow intimidating presence.

There were rumors that the C's starters had signed off on this trade, but looking at how they reacted I find that pretty hard to believe. They were all visibly upset and that affected how they played that night in Denver.

But KG is starting to like how these wheeling and dealings are turning out.

The secret of basketball is that it isn't about basketball, to borrow a phrase from Bill Simmons, which I'm starting to do a lot. It's all about chemistry. And the fact that KG is saying he is welcoming his new relationships with these late arrivals is encouraging. Making them feel comfortable both on the court and off will go a long way towards bringing Banner 18 back to Beantown.
