The curse of the back to backs has been lifted!

The Celtics looked like they were going to labor through yet another back to back, playing sluggish, tired basketball through the first two and a half quarters. The Hornets were seemingly getting all the breaks, tracking down most of the "50-50" balls and getting some tough shots to fall. The C's desperately needed someone to step up and who better than Big Baby.

It was a bit of a home-coming game for Glen Davis, a Baton Rouge native. He was clearly playing with purpose and offensive efficiency, as he hit his first five shots from the field. Baby finished 8-11 for 20 points, tied with Ray Allen for the team high. When the team really needed a bucket Davis was the one who came through for them.

The starters again got off to a poor start, only managing 14 first quarter points. Paul Pierce struggled mightily, connecting on only 1 of his 9 shots. Although he did shoot somewhat better from the field, Rondo was easily outplayed by Chris Paul, who again displayed what a great court general he is. Rajon seemed to injure his hand at some point, and missed most of the third quarter but was able to return for the fourth.

During Rondo's absence Delonte West stepped in and showed that he can run the offense with the rest of the starters. His control of the flow of the game is always impressive. He understands the sensitive balance between creating his own shot and maintaining necessary ball movement.

All in all the C's were impressive in showing that they are capable of winning these second games of back to backs. They were able to change the tempo of the ball game, and turn in into a style they operate in best. This win gave Doc his 500th as a coach and brought the Celtics back to even with the Bulls for first in the Eastern Conference.
