It Begins

That was about as good as you could hope for. With the exception of Danny Woodhead's head injury (which I don't think is much of an injury anyways) everyone stayed healthy. AND we were still able to hang 38 points on the Dolphins. We ran all over them. It looked like they didn't really want to be there. Sad.

Games like this give other guys a chance to get some solid game reps. Julian Edelman had the type of game that I thought we'd be seeing all year long. He just hasn't quite gotten enough opportunities to contribute. He dropped a few balls earlier in the year on key third downs and must have ended up in the dog house a little bit. But we were all reminded today that he is a playmaker. He always makes that first guy miss and is a threat to score every time he touches the football. I'd look for him to maybe get a few reverses in the playoffs and continue to make an impact in the punt return game.

Another young receiver who impressed me was Taylor Price. I remember watching some of his highlights on YouTube back when we drafted him and being impressed with his speed and toughness. Today he showed that he can be a solid receiver in years to come. He ran good precise routes. He ran his slants hard and showed good focus in catching every ball thrown his way.

The Law-Firm got himself over the 1000 yard mark, becoming the first Patriots back to do that since Corey Dillon. It was a good way to close out the regular season. But as far as I'm concerned the real football season is only just beginning. Time to focus on the playoffs. I've always viewed the Pat's in the postseason as a continuation of the holiday season. Let's enjoy it.
